Seek + Obey
SEEK + OBEY was created with the PURPOSE of engaging women to read, understand and follow God’s Word and the MISSION to bring God’s Word to women all over the world.
SEEK – to search out or try to discover by any method, to include: diligently inquiring, striving after, pursuing persistently (Biblical definition states to actively pursue God, His will, presence and kingdom). The concept of seeking in the Bible is a profound theme that encompasses the pursuit of God, wisdom, righteousness, and truth. It is an active endeavor that requires intention, diligence, and a heart aligned with God’s will. The act of seeking is often portrayed as a prerequisite for finding, receiving, and understanding the divine. The Hebrew word often translated is darash which means seeking and investigating or inquiring about something to take hold of it. The Greek word often translated is zeteo meaning to seek in order to find out by thinking, meditating, reasoning, and striving after.
“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” – Jeremiah 29:13
OBEY – dutifully or submissively complying to the commands, guidance, direction or request of one in authority (Biblical definition states willing, loving submission to God’s authority, demonstrated by actively hearing and responding to His commands with action, involving not only following rules but also aligning your will with God’s will out of love). The term obey in the biblical context refers to the act of following commands, instructions, or guidance, particularly those given by God. The Hebrew word often translated is shama which means to hear, listen, or give heed. The Greek word often translated is hypakouo meaning to listen attentively or to submit to authority.
Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching.” – John 14:23

Purpose
I created Seek + Obey because I am passionate about women developing a deeper love for and commitment to God, and I believe this happens when we read, understand and follow His Word. The Bible is where God reveals to us who He is, what He does, and His purpose for us. The more we learn about the greatness of God, His compassion, holiness, love, kindness, forgiveness, mercy, grace (I could go on and on!) then we just can’t help to fall more in love with Him, which increases our desire to please Him, obey Him and share His love with others. This transforms our lives, it changes everything. It is where we find eternal life, joy in all circumstances, and peace beyond understanding. My hope is to engage women (to encourage, excite and equip them) by creating digital and physical products to help them be intentional about their time and walk with God.
After I was saved and as a new Christian I was not discipled, it was many years before I found a community of women that took me in and showed me what it meant to live for Christ. During that time I truly did try to read and understand the Bible, however it was a huge struggle for me. I was not engaged, it didn’t capture my interest, it was a chore, something I did to check off my to-do list, because I thought that’s what Christians were supposed to do. My lack of love for Scripture was not due to lack of trying, I tried reading it in small sections, large sections, writing it out, daily devotionals. Some were ok, but overall none of it really captured my heart or increased my love for the Lord. And as for my walk…YIKES. I was basically stumbling along, no direction, easily distracted and continually veering off course…basically as far as my life looked I was still lost. However once I began to be discipled, and began to be taught by more mature Christians what it truly meant to follow Christ, to spend time with the Lord and allow His Spirit to guide and direct me, ways to not just read but study the Bible and truly engage with it, my entire life changed. I was shown through example and able to benefit from their many, many years of combined experience walking with the Lord. I learned what it meant to be intentional and create rhythms in my daily life to help keep me on course. And the biggest and best thing I learned was that God’s word is living and active, and it was where He spoke directly to me. It was not just a task expected of me, but an invitation to a real and direct relationship with God. I began to love His Word, to the point that during COVID when the Women’s Biblical Institute at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary went fully online, I enrolled and 2 years later received my diploma in Biblical Studies, then went on to complete a program in Ministry to Women. Since then I have been leading Bible Studies, teaching a BF class, mentoring, and been part of many small groups and programs where I have had the unbelievable privilege to see God work mightily in the lives of women as they committed their lives to Jesus and following Him. I also have learned so much from the women in these groups and am forever grateful for my sisters in Christ. My life has been completely transformed, I am not the same person I used to be, I truly do have a new life in Christ. And though my life is far from perfect (and I am certainly far from perfect, I am a continual work in progress and always will be) I know that I am living out God’s purpose for me and I have never felt more secure or fulfilled.
Now I am hoping to share the things that I have learned by writing and creating products to help women be intentional in their walk with God, through Bible Study Guides, Planners, Scripture Memory Cards (I am VERY passionate about writing God’s Word on your heart & mind), and other tools and resources. My hope is that these products will help women learn, plan and organize, make hard things easier, and save them time…because I know that as women WE ARE BUSY and this all can feel very difficult and overwhelming. I want to do the heavy lifting, the digging, the research, and then present it to you in a compact, understandable, doable, and hopefully beautiful format to make your life a bit easier and help you better use the time that you do have to spend with the Lord and deepen your relationship with Him. And at the same time I want to teach you, as your time permits and you create margin, how to do that heavy lifting on your own.

Mission
I am also passionate about bringing the good news of Jesus Christ and what I have learned to women all over the world. I have had the privilege of going on several mission trips to Africa and am heading to India in the spring (these are some of my pictures from these trips) which has only shown me the great (almost desperate) need to bring the gospel to all nations and increased my desire to be able to continue doing so. However, fundraising is the only way I am able to do this, so the mission of Seek + Obey is to use all of the money that is made on these products to help fund these mission trips. This is how women can support other women all over the world, and I’d be honored if you would join me in this mission. To God be the glory!
